After shooting three other lighthouses on this particular night I swung by the Annisquam Lighthouse in Gloucester. Like both the Eastern Point Lighthouse and the Gloucester Breakwater Light, this property is nestled in a very exclusive and private section of the town. I'd gotten Coast Guard permission to visit the grounds, but one never knows what the neighbors might think when they hear car doors opening and closing nearby at two in the morning. Luckily it was at a time of year when few summer residents were around and I was able to go about my work with no interruptions. I particularly like this photograph especially with the lighted lobster trap in the foreground, and I got really lucky with the tide while there since it was dead low. Had the tide been high it would have severely restricted my movement around the rocky front of the lighthouse.
