Avery Point Light, CT

Avery Point Light, CT

After shooting the New London Harbor Light I drove a short distance to the grounds of Groton's Avery Point UCONN campus where the lighthouse is located. You can actually see this light from the Harbor Light which is about a half mile away, but driving there is about five miles. During the survey a few weeks earlier I'd seen the tower's reflection in a small puddle on some rocks that were closer to the shore. I place the camera on the rocks, the results make it look as though the lighthouse is practically on the water. I didn't have to add any light to the scene because of all the ambient light from the university buildings.
