Burlington South Rising Moon, VT

Burlington South Rising Moon, VT

We were able to shoot both harbor lights on the same night in Burlington as they are close to another in the harbor. To protect the inner harbor from waves and erosion, several long breakwaters were built. On both the north and south ends were placed navigational towers and eventually covered with structures to look like lighthouses. We had first shot at the north tower before motoring along the breakwater to the south one. The ongoing New England drought in the summer of 2016 had lowered Lake Champlain’s water level and I had to climb up an eight-foot incline to reach the top of the breakwater. We shot several angles and I was reluctant to photograph the moon but my instincts were proven wrong resulting in a nice shot.
