The Borden Flats lighthouse sits south of the Braga Bridge in Fall River. With my daughter Amy assisting we put our 15-foot whaler in just north of the bridge and traveled to the light. We found an area of about fourteen feet of water and set the tripod for sixteen feet on our first attempt but were having some issues. Ultimately we reset the tripod at 17 and got it stable enough to fire off several clean images. That's been the challenge of this series especially shooting water-based lighthouses with no other landing area nearby. I've adapted the whaler with a small crane to facilitate dropping the large tripod into the water on shoots like this one. There's little that could be done with the light pollution coming from Fall River and the amount of visible stars was small because of the ambient light.
