Boston Harbor Light Bell, MA

Boston Harbor Light Bell, MA

We were able to arrange a visit to the oldest active and inhabited lighthouse in the country, Boston Lighthouse. Located on Little Brewster Island off Hull Massachusetts in Boston Harbor, we set out of Hull Harbor on a beautifully clear late June evening and motored to the island. We were met by Coast Guard auxiliary personnel who escorted us the entire time on our visit. The days are long in late June and the twilight doesn't fully dissipate for a couple of hours after sunset and we had a 10pm curfew to leave the island. At 9:45 there was just enough darkness to see a few stars but clouds had come in and covered the area. We quickly went about our work and captured four good images before having to leave the island. Our plan was to also shoot at nearby Graves Island but the clouds prevented that as well.
